Edmonton Nightlife

There is no shortage of night action in this city. No matter what your music preference, taste of food, intimacy level and type of action, you’ll find a place to be. From intimate restaurants, an “unplugged” experience, comedy show with dinner, sports bar, country music and dancing, live entertainment with dinner, Irish music and pubs – Edmonton has it all. Proud of its connection to the Arts: music, dance and theatre, Edmonton loves the opportunity to show if off any time of day.

When the sun sets in Edmonton it’s time to get dust off those dancing shoes and hit the clubs!  With plenty to choose from there’s something to keep everyone happy.  From dance clubs to live jazz and blues, country and salsa, Canada’s top summer festival city comes alive at night, every night. 

A favourite amongst country fans, the Wild West Saloon has the largest dancefloor in the city and a friendly atmosphere.  A trendier crowd can generally be found at the Standard nightclub, with its modern décor, ice bar, live DJs and popular ladies nights.

 Although the clubs tend to close around 2am, there’s no shortage of after-hour action for those that aren’t yet ready to go home.  If you’re into the electronic scene, check out Sublime on 10146 – 104 St, and for a full on safari experience, try the Rum Jungle.  Special performances include fire-breathing, magicians and bizarrely dressed characters wandering around. 

The Edmonton gay scene is quite well developed, with several clusters of gay bars and clubs around in the downtown area off Jasper Street. Some of the most popular are the Roost and Buddies Nightclub.
