Cordova

The charming, rustic appeal of Cordova can be summarized in the motto of the community: “farms and flowers, fellowship.” It lies between Interstate 40 and the Wolf River, west of Pisgah Road. 

The neighborhood was once an agricultural community. However, Memphis growth has made it a thriving city suburb. Some parts of the community have been annexed to the city. The area is mainly residential with many retail and dining options along the Germantown Parkway. 

Cordova is close to Shelby Farms Park. This urban green space has many amenities including a playground, hiking/biking trails and spots for fishing. It also offers zip lines and a variety of other outdoor activities.

Cordova’s housing is almost entirely single-family detached homes, with a few small condo and townhouse developments. You can find smaller homes with 2 to 3 bedrooms in Cordova for as low as $100,000. Most properties go for between $200,000 and $400,000. 

Germantown

One of the most well known suburbs of Memphis, Germantown, TN is renowned for its central location, varied housing supply, and numerous parks and other attractions. It is located at the eastern edge of Memphis, southwest of the Wolf River. This makes it one of the easiest drives to the city.

This bustling community has all the amenities homeowners would want, including numerous shopping centers and a hospital. Germantown residents can enjoy shows at the Germantown Performing Arts Center and Cameron Brown Park, which offers Wolf River access, has ample green space, parks, picnic areas, and trails.

Germantown buyers can choose from a variety of styles and types of homes. These range from old properties to new construction. Homes for Sale in Germantown start in the high $200,000s, but most often sell in the $400,000 to $600,000. $1,000,000 will get you one of Germantown’s storied historic mansions. You can also find condo-style units along Germantown’s west edge and Kimbrough Road  typically listed in the $200s.

Arlington

Arlington is a suburb just 20 miles north of Memphis that would appeal to many homebuyers. It runs from the Loosahatchie River to US Highway 64 south, east at Chambers Chapel Road. Its location is its greatest advantage. Arlington residents will find it easy to get around the Memphis area thanks to their close proximity to Interstates 40, 269, US Highways 64, 79 and State Route 385.

Arlington has a charming downtown with local businesses located in historic buildings like the long-standing community staple S.Y. Wilson and Co., which sells active wear and clothing. Vinegar Jim’s is the oldest restaurant in the city. Regular events are held in the town, especially around Depot Square.

Arlington homebuyers can find single-family detached homes that were built within the last two or three decades. Homes for Sale in Arlington Start it the mid-$200,000s for small-sized or older single-story homes. Most homes are between the low $300,000s and the high $600,000s. HOAs are common in Arlington, offering amenities such as clubhouses, pools and parks.

Collierville

Collierville is a charming mix of charm, history, and great housing for Memphis residents. It is located approximately 30 miles southeast from Memphis, close to the Mississippi border. Although it suffered extensive damage in two Civil War battles, Collierville grew into a thriving small town after it was rebuilt, and was recently named “America’s Best Main Street”. Collierville residents have the opportunity to enjoy this charming area with its historic buildings and picturesque square.

This area is home to many community favorites, including the Silver Caboose Restaurant and Soda Fountain. You’ll find restaurants, shops, as well as everyday services, along West Poplar Avenue, the main thoroughfare in the city. The Carriage Crossing shopping center is also nearby.

The majority of Collierville realty homes are single-family detached houses with three to five bedrooms. However, there are vast differences in the style, size and age of these homes. There are everything from small, one-story homes, to large, sprawling new-construction mansions. These properties also come with a wide variety of prices, starting at less than $200,000 for a modest single family residence. Collierville luxury houses can reach $1.5m or more.
